Background
I started this little website project mainly as an exercise to learn how to build a website using WordPress.
For a subject I thought it would be fun to dig up old photos and interesting to tell the story of our family ranch. My great grandfather brought the family here from Nebraska in 1910 and traded other property for this land. Over the generations the land was divided between the children who have since passed away. My children and I are the last remaining family connected to the land.
This website was built using a Raspberry Pi 4 computer and is hosted using Apache2 on the same Pi 4 computer in my house. Dynamic DNS is utilized via No-ip.com. The pi 4 is not powered on all the time. So I have a clone of this site at https://moranranch.rf.gd (a commercial host) that makes the site visible 24/7.
