Animals Around Ranch


Usually, after the hay is cut, baled, and sold, cattle will be brought in to feed on the remaining grass.
This year 29 cows were brought in for grazing.
Kellan and Everly love to feed the cows. They have names for them.

By early fall the feed is gone. It’s time to bring in feed or move them to another pasture

When it’s time to remove the cattle we set up a corral and put some hay inside. They all rush inside to eat. Then we back the trailer up to the gate and herd them into the trailer.

Occasionally wild turkeys come in. They lay eggs in the tall grass. They also fly a lot better than you would expect.

Raccoons are common and sneak around at night. Foxes are often seen too, but I’ve never gotten close enough to get a picture.
