1950-2022

Christmas on ranch 1957, I’m about 13 years old

3 Generations, grandpa Doug, dad Gary, and son Brian, 1976

This old McCormick-Deering International Harvester T20 tractor was purchased used around 1950. It worked the land until 1999 when it started giving trouble.  We got a used Cat D2 to to replace it.

1986 Water project installed 50 inch water pipe – it took an easement of 35 ft along the road

After mom passed away in 2009, the house was remodeled. The old double hung windows were replaced with dual pane windows. New carpet, tile,  and vinyl flooring were installed

Concrete kitchen counters were replaced with tile. The new stainless steel sink was a challenge to find since the counter top is narrow and the faucets come out of the wall. Also the entire house was rewired to convert to a 3 wire grounded system

First heat was the fireplace, then a wood stove, then an oil heater, followed by a floor furnace. In 2011 the furnace heat exchanger cracked and we put in gas wall heater.

The windmill is at least 90 years old. It is not used anymore. I always give it a good inspection every couple years to make sure it won’t fall off in a wind storm.
